It's that time again - time to Spring Forward or as some of us also like to call it, Daylight Saving Time (DST). It's the time to set your clock one hour ahead before going to bed Saturday night - or 2:00am Sunday.
It's not much of a big deal today like it was way back when since most of our computers, phones and other electronics do the work for us. Nevertheless, if you want a reminder for your site, check out more banners below.

BANNERS: World Kidney Day
Needless to say, World Kidney Day is a global awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of our kidneys.
World Kidney Day comes back every year. All across the globe, many hundred events take place from public screenings in Argentina to Zumba marathons in Malaysia. We do it all to create awareness. Awareness about preventive behaviours, awareness about risk factors, and awareness about how to live with a kidney disease. We do this because we want kidney health for all.

The almond is native to the Mediterranean climate region of the Middle East, eastward as far as the Yamuna River in India. In Iran, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and other Central Asian countries, it is known as bādām. It was spread by humans in ancient times along the shores of the Mediterranean into northern Africa and southern Europe, and more recently transported to other parts of the world, notably California, United States.

BANNERS: National Flag of Canada Day | February 15
On February 15, 1965 our national flag was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill. Every year since 1996, when Parliament declared February 15th as National Flag of Canada Day, we celebrate our beautiful flag.
In 2017, the National Flag of Canada is celebrating its 52nd anniversary. Canadians are invited to celebrate this important symbol of our identity by organizing their own events and by showing their pride on social media.

BANNERS: National GIRLFRIENDS DAY!
Today is National Girlfriends Day, a celebration of women friends all over. According to daysoftheyear.com, there's no clear origin of the day so you know what that means:
You're free to use it as an excuse to drink margaritas with your BFFs or give your significant other a new purse. The only holiday requirement seems to be that you recognize how important your relationships — platonic, intimate and everything in between — are.

BANNERS: National Day of Mourning | Workers' Memorial Day | April 28
The National Day of Mourning, or Workers’ Mourning Day is observed in Canada on 28 April. It commemorates workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace related hazards and incidents.
The American equivalent, Workers’ Memorial Day, was established in 1970. The April 28 date was chosen to mark the Occupational Health and Safety Act which came into force on that day.
In Canada, Workers' Memorial Day was started in Sudbury, Ontario in 1984, and the Canadian Labour Congress officially declared it an annual day of remembrance in 1985 on April 28. It has since grown to be observed in over 80 countries.
In December 1990, this day became a national observance with the passing of the Workers Mourning Day Act, so that on April 28, 1991, it was officially the National Day of Mourning for persons killed or injured in the workplace; making April 28, an official Workers’ Mourning Day.

BANNERS: Denim Day
As the story goes:
For the past 17 years, Peace Over Violence has run its Denim Day campaign on a Wednesday in April in honor of Sexual Violence Awareness Month. The campaign was originally triggered by a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped her rapist remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim. Peace Over Violence developed the Denim Day campaign in response to this case and the activism surrounding it. Since then, wearing jeans on Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.
In this rape prevention education campaign we ask community members, elected officials, businesses and students to make a social statement with their fashion by wearing jeans on this day as a visible means of protest against the misconceptions that surround sexual assault. This year’s Denim Day is April 27, 2016. - denimdayinfo

No one knows why National Prime Rib Day is April 27, or even who created it but do we care? No. So go forth and prepare some prime rib at home for dinner or dine out to enjoy some today!
If you’ve ever wondered exactly what prime rib is, or what separates it from other beef grades and cuts, you aren’t alone. According the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), prime beef comes from well-fed, younger cows and is recognized by its heavy presence of marbling. Marbling is the amount of white fat that you see on meat in relation to lean beef. Prime rib comes from the cow’s upper rib area, and this meat is revered for its high quality. Most fine restaurants and hotels serve prime beef, including prime rib. Prime is the highest grade of beef determined by the USDA. The amount of juiciness the meat has is a direct reflection of how much marbling is present. Therefore, prime cuts will be the juiciest and most flavorful due to the amount of fat present. - inquisitr

BANNERS: Earth Hour
Did you know...
Earth Hour famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007? It has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide since.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held worldwide annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. towards the end of March, as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.
Today, Earth Hour engages a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues. The one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement.

BANNERS: International Women's Day | March 08
International Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women's Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year.
In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women for women's economic, political, and social achievements. Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended the culture of many countries, primarily in Europe, especially those in the Soviet Bloc.
In some regions, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for people to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother's Day and Valentine's Day.
In other regions, however, the political and human rights theme designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner. Some people celebrate the day by wearing purple ribbons.
