BANNERS: World TOILET Day | November 19 (#WorldToiletDay)

World Toilet Day (WTD) is an official United Nations international observance day on 19 November to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis. Worldwide, 4.5 billion people live without "safely managed sanitation" and around 892 million people practise open defecation. Sustainable Development Goal 6 aims to achieve sanitation for all and end open defecation. World Toilet Day exists to inform, engage and inspire people to take action toward achieving this goal.

World Toilet Day was established by the World Toilet Organization in 2001. Twelve years later, the UN General Assembly declared World Toilet Day an official UN day in 2013.

BANNERS: National PICKLE Day | November 14 (#NationalPickleDay)

Did you know, drinking pickle juice stops muscle cramps faster than drinking water? That's why some athletes drink it during a game!

Whether it's bread and butter pickles, gherkins, dill pickles, Polish or German pickles, cinnamon pickles, kool-aid pickles or even breaded pickles, today is the day to enjoy your favourite pickles even more on National Pickle Day!

A pickled cucumber (commonly known as a pickle in the United States and Canada and a gherkin in Britain, Ireland, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand) is a cucumber that has been pickled in a brine, vinegar, or other solution and left to ferment for a period of time, by either immersing the cucumbers in an acidic solution or through souring by lacto-fermentation. Pickled cucumbers are often part of mixed pickles.

It's National Spicy Guacamole Day!
The avocado-based dip, sometimes used as a spread or in salads, was first developed by the Aztecs in what is now Mexico. Not only is it popular in modern Mexican cuisine, but it has become part of international and American cuisine as well.

So kick that guacamole up a notch today by adding some spice!

BANNERS: REMEMBRANCE Day | November 11 (#RemembranceDay)

Remembrance Day (sometimes known informally as Poppy Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

Following a tradition inaugurated by King George V in 1919, the day is also marked by war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries. Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November in most countries to recall the end of hostilities of World War I on that date in 1918.

Hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month", in accordance with the armistice signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 that morning. ("At the 11th hour" refers to the passing of the 11th hour, or 11:00 am.) The First World War officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919.

BANNERS: INTERNET Day | October 29 (#InternetDay)

The first internet transmission started off as an attempt to transmit the text 'login' but after the 'l' and 'o' was sent, the system crashed. An hour later, however, on October 29, 1969, the entire text, 'login' was sent successfully and the rest, as they say, is history. Where would we be without the internet today? #InternetDay

Did you know, the first transmitted text was sent just a few months after Neil Armstrong walked on the moon?

BANNERS: International CAPS LOCK Day | October 22 ( #InternationalCapsLockDay)

IT'S INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY! Ok. I'll stop shouting but this parody holiday was created back in October 2000 by a mystery guy named Derek Arnold, to make fun of those who constantly have the caps lock on when they type. You know who you are. #InternationalCapsLockDay

Did you know, there's a second observation on June 28? It was added by Arnold in memory of American pitchman Billy Mays, (since he always appeared to be shouting in those infomercials).
