BANNERS: National SPAGHETTI Day | January 4

Today is National Spaghetti Day, a day celebrating that long, thin, cylindrical, solid pasta that we all love to twirl before gobbling down.

Did you know, the word spaghetti literally means "little lines"?

We all naturally think of spaghetti as an Italian dish but long before it became a staple in Italian cuisine, families in central Asia were eating similar noodle dishes. As early as the 5th century, nomadic Arabs likely brought the meal westward. The Italians, however, revolutionized the dish, inventing a wide variety of pasta shapes along the way.

Happy National Spaghetti Day!
